Memorable Mondays

Monday morning 6:00 am

The alarm sounds and I’m awake again.  Again. Monday.

I roll over to turn it off, and I’m surprised by the amount of darkness outside. We recently observed daylight savings time and turned our clocks forward one hour, and in my head, it is really 5:00 am.

But it’s Monday. A new start to a new week. Great things can happen on Mondays, right?

Monday provides us with a new opportunity to make a difference in the life of someone else.  After all, that is what life is about, right? To be the one to encourage someone else who needs it.  To help the single mom with a bill that needs to be paid so she isn’t so overwhelmed.  To bring groceries to an elderly person in your area that can’t get out on their own. A coworker who goes all weekend without another adult soul to talk to, gets to see you on Monday.

What if the world was full of people who, instead of spending time complaining about it being Monday, who dreaded the week and couldn’t wait until Friday to start the weekend, saw Monday as the start to a week where they could bless and help others?

Good things can happen on Mondays. Be the person that someone looks forward to seeing. Be the reason someone else looks forward to Mondays, and create moments that make Mondays memorable.  being-461780_1280
